About Cupertino Community Services

How the Cupertino Cares, I Care program works.

You purchase a booklet of 10 vouchers for just $ 20.00.  Because of other outside help and in-kind donations, your $ 20.00 in cash is immediately good for over $ 30.00 worth of food, clothing and other support.  Recipients redeem vouchers at the Cupertino Community Services center for a minimum $ 3.00 worth of goods and services for each voucher.

This new voucher program offers a realistic solution to panhandling.  You give a panhandler one or more vouchers for food and clothing instead of cash. You know your money is being used as you intend, not for drugs and alcohol, and your donation is tax-deductible.  Plus, panhandlers are provided access to services that will help them get out of their situation and back on their feet.

For any of our neighbors in need, the vouchers can be given directly.  Or, the attached referral card "Hello Friend" can be used as your guide to let someone know how and where help is available.  In any case, your tax-deductible donation is being put to good use.

About Cupertino Community Services

Cupertino Community Services is a non-profit, charitable, community based agency which provides emergency assistance to less fortunate members of our community.  With your support, we help people in crisis.  Food, rental assistance, utility payments, shelter, clothing, and more are all provided through our center.  Our transportation program provides rides for seniors and disabled persons.  We prevent families from being evicted from their homes, and we help homeless, employable men and women with a chance to get back into the mainstream.  We provide nearly 4 tons of food each month to those in need.

We try to help as much as we can, but remember, we could not do it without your help.

If you would like to know more about the services provided by Cupertino Community Services, how you can volunteer, or how you can use the Cupertino Cares, I Care voucher program for you group's fund raising activities, please call 408/255-8033.

Thanks!
